Pause.īlessed is that day, that hour, minute and second when the heavy, rigid shutters are opened and desire is quenched. My mind is intoxicated with delight and my consciousness is filled with hope This is from a beautiful Shabd (composition/poem) by Guru Arjun, the 5th Sikh Guru: With each breath we manifest the truth of our identity and the reality of God and Me, Me and God, are One. So to experience the vastness of this love is simply to breathe deeply into the heart of our very being and to carry its name on our breath: Sat Nam. Yogi Bhajan said the breath is the kiss of intimacy with God, the Divine source of everything.
Can we dare to believe that we always had, and always will have, God’s full acceptance that we are beautiful and Divine as we are? Afterall, we were created out of pure love. But ultimately, we want acceptance in God’s Court. This plays out in our relationships, work places, different environments. Often we don’t access this love because somewhere along the way we’ve seeded an idea, or it’s been seeded within us, that we are not fully acceptable.
In the heart's yearning for the Beloved, our lives can become a living expression of the depth of the love that simply wants to give and share and reach out and connect to the One within all. Beyond the onslaught of commercialism, Valentine’s Day can also have meaning and value – it can be an opportunity to remember that we are all born out of the vastness of love that is the Divine which lives and breathes within us.
